This time, I'd like to introduce a template for creating an English vocabulary book in Notion!
When you think of vocabulary books, paper ones are probably the mainstream. However, aren't paper books a bit cumbersome to carry around, and difficult to add new words to when you're out and about?
The vocabulary book created with Notion that we're introducing this time can be quickly viewed on your smartphone and allows you to add words anywhere, making it highly recommended for those who want to learn words while commuting to work or school!

Inside the Template.
The overall structure of the template we're providing this time is as follows:
The database tabs are divided into two: Vocabulary Book and Word List.
Vocabulary Book Tab
The vocabulary book tab is used for memorizing words. In this tab, only the English word and word type are visible.
You can check the answers and example sentences by opening each vocabulary entry, so you can start by memorizing English words using this vocabulary book.
The items within the vocabulary entry are as follows:
- Type (Noun, Verb, etc.)
- Translation
- Example sentence
- Example sentence translation
- Checkbox for "Memorized"
- Number of times answer was viewed
Words you've memorized disappear from the vocabulary book tab when you check them off, so only unmemorized words will remain automatically.
The great thing is that you can view it on your smartphone and quickly learn words during your commute or other spare moments. You can also easily add words to your vocabulary book even when you're out!
Word List Tab
The other tab is the one where you can view the word list.
Here, all registered words can be seen, so you can use it for reviewing or learning how to use words through example sentences.
There are some words that are difficult to remember, aren't there...? It's a good idea to note down the number of times you've looked at the answer when memorizing words, so you can identify the ones you found difficult here.
You can also apply filters to search for words by type, such as nouns or verbs, making it very convenient.
