Why I created a chore assignment chart with Notion.
It can be hard to bring up the topic of chore assignments, and even harder to decide on them, right? And even after they're decided, it's not always easy to stick to them.
I started living with someone a while ago, and when I created a chore assignment chart with Notion, our life together became much smoother!
I thought, "I have to share this with everyone..." so I'd like to explain it in detail, including how to use it!

How to create a chore assignment chart.
Now, let's get right into the contents of the page and how we actually assigned chores.
The top part is the chore assignment chart.
It shows at a glance what my girlfriend and I do and when, as well as what we do together.
The bottom part is the table used for deciding assignments. This is where we actually decided on our chore assignments!
This is how we decided on our assignments:
- List out all chores and write them in the title.
- Decide when each chore will be done.
- Assign a difficulty level.
- Check off chores that each person is good at.
- Decide who will do what.
If you use the template I'll introduce at the end, it's very simple and easy because you just have to decide from left to right on the table.
And when you decide assignments using this table, the chore chart above is automatically generated.
What made Notion convenient.
Finally, I'll share what I found convenient about creating a chore assignment chart with Notion.
1. Can be shared with a partner and reviewed anytime.
Notion allows you to share pages, so the most convenient point is that both of you can see what you've created together.
Since Notion is something you open frequently, it's easy to review and re-evaluate things. Being able to review it easily also helps you notice when you haven't been keeping up with chores.
I created a home page with my girlfriend in Notion and linked this page there.
2. Makes assigning chores fun.
When it comes to chore assignments, it can sometimes be difficult to bring up the topic at first, and even harder to decide.
But with such a cute page, doesn't it make deciding a little more fun? It's also interesting because it's new and different from paper or whiteboards!
I'm sure my partner will be excited when I show them this page... lol
3. Easy to change assignments.
After assigning chores and trying them out for a while, there are times when you might want to change them.
With Notion's board view, you can easily change assignments by simply moving the chore you want to change.
Adding chores is also simple, just click on the "+"!
