Make Notion even more convenient. 3 recommended apps to use with Notion.

In my previous blog post, I introduced what Notion is, how to use it, and its appeal.

Notion is an all-purpose note-taking app that can do anything, but it does have some weaknesses, such as quickly jotting down notes or detailed task management.

This time, I'll introduce three apps that you can use with Notion to complement those weaknesses.

"Fast Notion" for Quick Notes

The first app is "Fast Notion." Simply put, it's an app that allows you to quickly send simple notes to Notion.

Notion is more of a note-taking app where you carefully build pages, so there are times when you want to "quickly add this note to that list!" but it's hard to get to that page instantly. This app is incredibly useful in such situations. To use it, simply open the app, type your text, and press the send button. This will input your text into the specified Notion page.

This is a recommended app for those who used to "jot down notes in a different note-taking app when in a hurry and then transfer them to Notion later."

They've recently released a Chrome extension, so be sure to try that out as well.

Task Management App "TickTick"

The second app is "TickTick," a calendar and task management app.

This app offers a calendar to manage minute-by-minute schedules and an app to manage detailed tasks.

You can view it in various ways, such as month, week, and day, and easily link tasks to the calendar.

For detailed daily tasks, I recommend TickTick over Notion.

Notion's calendar function is a bit lacking, isn't it? There's no weekly view, and it's hard to manage minute-by-minute schedules.

So, I embed TickTick into Notion to supplement its calendar and task management features.

This is what it looks like when embedded in Notion.

That being said, you can still manage tasks with Notion if you try, so you might be wondering how to best separate their uses.

I personally use TickTick for daily calendars and managing detailed tasks, and Notion for managing the progress of large work projects and tasks involving multiple members.

I also use Notion to manage large company tasks.

TickTick also has a feature to share tasks and calendars, which is convenient for managing schedules with family or partners.

In addition, it offers a Pomodoro timer and habit tracking, so it's quite excellent on its own... If I get a chance, I'll introduce its detailed features in a separate article!

Online Whiteboard "Miro"

Finally, there's "Miro," an online whiteboard sharing tool.

With Notion, there are times when it can be difficult to use for large group brainstorming or when thinking or creating collaboratively. This is where "Miro" comes in handy.

Simply put, it's an app that's like taking an offline whiteboard and moving it online, but with an infinite canvas where you can write endlessly.

A whiteboard app that lets you do anything with text, sticky notes, typing, and handwriting.

By embedding Miro into Notion, you can review what you thought about on Miro later in Notion.

It's incredibly simple and convenient to manage and review everything within Notion without having to open a separate app.

This is what Miro looks like when embedded in Notion.

I use Miro instead of Notion in the following situations:

When I want to brainstorm ideas by placing many sticky notes
When I want to diagram complex content clearly
When I want to create transition diagrams or prototypes
When collaborating on documents or designs
When I want to brainstorm with multiple people while looking at one document
As a whiteboard for online meetings

Like Notion, Miro also has co-editing features, so you can edit Miro together while discussing it in a meeting.

Miro itself is very deep and can be used in many different ways, so it's one of my personal favorite apps. I've also covered it on YouTube, so if you want to know more about how to use Miro, please check out the video.

This is how I personally use Notion, by integrating it with other services to supplement areas where Notion falls short.
