[Template included] How Notion made moving easier.

March is already well underway, and moving season is in full swing!

Moving involves so much to do, and it's easy to forget tasks every time, isn't it?

This time, I'll introduce a "Moving Template" I created in Notion that will make your next move easier!

1. Once you decide to move, list everything you need to do

Once you decide to move, it's easy to get flustered, thinking "I need to do this, and that..."

To organize all those tasks, let's start by listing them out. The template includes a "To-do List" where you can manage tasks with checkboxes.

First, brainstorm and list all the necessary tasks here.

The template retains the list I created when I actually moved.
Feel free to use it as is, adding any missing tasks!

After listing the tasks, categorize them under "Genre" (e.g., New Address/Current Address/Real Estate...) and select a priority level (3 stages). If you're moving with a partner or family, you can also assign a person responsible for each task.

Finally, add due dates, and your to-do list is complete. It will automatically sort tasks by the closest date, so you just need to tackle them in order. Check off tasks as you complete them.

It also supports a calendar view, so you can check it like a planner.

This template is recommended not only for single moves but also for when you start living with someone, or move with a partner or family. By filtering the "○○'s To-do List" tab by assignee, you can create a list for just that person. Feel free to share the page with those you're moving with and use it together!

2. Initial expenses are also calculated automatically.

Moving expenses include not only initial costs but also surprisingly many small expenses such as furniture/appliance purchases and disposal fees for unwanted items.

Also, if you move with a partner or friend, it would be convenient to keep a record of who paid, and how much each person owes, wouldn't it?

In the "Initial Expenses" section, you can record these detailed expenses. By selecting "Payer," you can also note who paid.

In addition to noting amounts, it also automatically calculates the total amount and the amount per person.

If one person pays on behalf of others, be sure to select "Payer."
You can also attach images and documents within the page, allowing you to store quotes and receipts.

3. Don't forget to change your address

After moving, it's easy to forget to change your address once you've settled in.

While you're likely to remember major things like My Number, driver's license, and bank accounts, it's easy to overlook smaller items such as online shops and registered services.

To help with address changes, it's convenient to prepare an "Address Change List" in advance. A great point is that once you create the list, you can reuse it.

First, identify the services where your address is registered, and categorize them using "tags." If multiple people are using the list, select the relevant items under "Responsible Person."

Once you've completed an address change, check the corresponding box in your column.

Since you can easily see what has been handled and what hasn't, you should be able to change your address smoothly. Just like the to-do list, feel free to use the address change list tab for yourself.
