This time, we'll show you how to generate ideas by integrating FigJam, Figma's online whiteboard, with Notion.
We'll explain how to easily import sticky notes from FigJam into Notion, like this!

1. The Trick We're Introducing Today
Today, we're introducing a trick to automatically import many ideas created in FigJam into Notion and turn them into a database, like this.
In Notion, it will be exported to a database like this, and information such as "sticky note color" and "user who wrote it" will be automatically included.
The colored tags can be changed later, making it easy to organize your ideas.
2. Tools to Use
From here, we'll introduce the tools we'll be using and how to export sticky notes to Notion.
The tool we'll be using is the Figma plugin called "FigNotion" from here.
By using this plugin, you can integrate "FigJam," an online whiteboard, with Notion, and export sticky notes created in FigJam to Notion.
When brainstorming, you often start by writing down ideas on a large whiteboard or sticky notes, then organize them into tables or notebooks.
FigNotion makes this process smooth and efficient.
3. How to Import FigJam Sticky Notes into Notion
Now, let's explain how to import ideas brainstormed in FigJam into Notion.
3-1. Connect FigJam and Notion
1. Create a new FigJam board from here. (If you already have an existing board, you can use that.)
2. Open the board, click the "+" button on the far right of the toolbox. Search for "FigNotion" and click "Run."
3. You will be prompted to allow access to Notion, so click "Allow access."
4. Your browser will open and display the Notion request screen. Click "Select pages," check the page you want to connect, and click "Allow access."
5. Return to FigJam. If this screen appears, the setup is complete.
3-2. Notion-side Settings
Next, prepare a database in Notion to import the sticky notes.
Create a new database on the linked page and set the properties and title as follows.
・Title: Name
→ This will contain the text written on the sticky note.
・Select property: Color
→ This will contain the color of the sticky note.
・Text property: Author
→ This will contain the name of the user who wrote the sticky note.
* If the sticky note color and user name are not needed, you don't have to create them.
Once you have a database identical to the one above, the Notion-side preparation is complete.
3-3. Import Sticky Notes in FigJam
Now, let's finally import FigJam sticky notes into Notion.
1. Open FigJam and brainstorm ideas on sticky notes. Color-code the sticky notes as needed.
2. Select all sticky notes and click "Add to Notion" in the window.
* If the window disappears, you can bring it back by clicking the "+" in the bottom right, searching for "FigNotion," and clicking "Run."
With that, the sticky notes have been imported.
If you look at the database you prepared in Notion, you'll see that "Name" contains the content written on the sticky notes, "Color" contains the sticky note color, and "Author" contains the username.
The colored tags can be changed later, so it might be useful to differentiate items by sticky note color beforehand if you plan to categorize them by tags later.
4. You can also embed FigJam itself in Notion!
Actually, you can also embed a FigJam board directly into Notion using Notion's embed feature.
1. In FigJam, click the "Share" button in the top right and then "Copy link."
2. Paste the copied link into Notion and click "Paste as preview." (If you're connecting Figma and Notion for the first time, you can do so here.)
Then, you can embed the FigJam whiteboard directly into Notion, like this.
Please try utilizing this convenient feature along with importing sticky notes!
