Notion has finally released its long-awaited calendar app, "Notion Calendar"!
Here's an early look at what Notion Calendar is, how to set it up and use it, and its convenient features!

1. What is Notion Calendar?
Notion Calendar is a separate calendar app released by Notion, fully integrated with Notion workspaces.
Previously, Notion's calendar function displayed databases by month or week using the "Calendar view" feature.
With the newly released Notion Calendar, you can now:
- Display Notion databases directly on the calendar
- Create Notion pages from Notion Calendar
- Consolidate schedules from multiple databases on the calendar
- Integrate with Google Calendar
and more.
Simply put, Notion's calendar function has become much more convenient with the new integration app!
It is currently available as a web version, Mac version, Windows version, and iPhone version. iPad and Android versions have not yet been announced, so we look forward to future updates 👀
2. How to use Notion Calendar
Let's set up and use Notion Calendar! This time, we will use the web version as an example.
2-1. Setup
1. From the Notion Calendar page, click "Get Notion Calendar for free"
2. Sign in with your Google account and click "Open Calendar"
Once the calendar screen appears, setup is complete. Next, we will link your Notion database with Notion Calendar.
3. From the "..." next to your account name at the bottom of the sidebar, click "+ Add Notion database"
4. Select the database you want to display
You can set the display/hide status of each database on the calendar in the sidebar. If you are using Google Calendar, you can also select whether to display or hide your Google Calendar in the sidebar.
To change the color displayed on the calendar, click on the database and change it in the sidebar on the right.
2-2. Registering appointments in Notion Calendar
Once setup is complete, let's register an appointment in Notion Calendar.
Let's try registering an appointment from Notion Calendar to the Notion database we just linked.
1. Double-click the desired location in Notion Calendar.
2. In the sidebar on the right, enter the appointment name in "Title" and set the time.
3. Select the Notion database you want to link.
Now, the appointment is displayed on Notion Calendar, and a page has been added to the selected Notion database.
3-3. Registering appointments in Notion Calendar from Notion
Next, let's try registering an appointment in Notion Calendar from Notion.
1. Create a new page in your Notion database.
2. Enter the appointment name in the title and select the date (time).
When you open Notion Calendar, the appointment is registered.
By the way, you can quickly open Notion Calendar by clicking the "Open in Calendar" button in the upper right corner of the Notion database.
3. What you can do with Notion Calendar
Notion Calendar, which was just released, is actually a rebranded version of a previously existing app called "Cron".
It was already an excellent calendar app, but with the integration with Notion, it has become even more user-friendly.
Finally, here are some of Notion Calendar's features and convenient functions.
- Display Notion databases in the calendar
The most exciting feature is the ability to display Notion databases directly in Notion Calendar with a single click.
It can display multiple databases in a single view, which will be very convenient for those who use Notion for task management or project management.
- Open Notion from Notion Calendar
Schedules linked with Notion can be easily accessed from Notion Calendar by jumping to the corresponding Notion page.
(Click on the event → Click "Open in Notion" in the sidebar)
You can also change the dates in your Notion database by simply dragging and dropping them on the calendar.
- Integrate with Google Calendar
Many people use Google Calendar for work, but with Notion Calendar, you can view your Google Calendar events and Notion information in one place.
There are many other tools that can be linked, so you'll want to make the most of them.
- Can also be embedded in Notion
Notion Calendar can also be embedded in Notion pages.
(Paste the Notion Calendar URL into Notion → Select "Create embed")
By embedding the calendar, you won't need to switch between pages, and you can manage your schedule entirely within Notion.
In addition, there are many other thoughtful features, such as notification settings for registered appointments and the ability to coordinate meeting schedules with multiple people. Please try them out!
